부산시립미술관 본 기획전 초대작가로는 2013년 ‘좋은 노동 나쁜 미술’로 개인전을 열었던 ‘김홍석’을 비롯해, ‘박기원’, ‘이불’, ‘최우람’, ‘전준호’, ‘박미나’, ‘정수진’ 등 30명으로 회화, 사진, 조각, 영상, 디지털 애니메이션 등 150여 점이 전시된다.
첨단기술을 즉각적으로 수용하면서 영역을 확장하는 현대사진, 현대성을 탐구하고 반영하는 한국화, 유전자 변형 혹은 과학과 예술의 결합을 보여주는 조각, 개념미술과 회화, 공간과 시간의 변화를 체감하게 하는 설치, 시간을 기록하는 영상작품 등으로 구성된다.
이번 기획전은 현대미술 면모를 파악하기 좋은 기회가 될 것이다. 어렵다고 말하는 현대미술은 우리 모두의 이야기와 우리가 고민하는 여러 문제, 사회적 문화적 환경이 일으키는 현상들 특히 곧 다가올 미래에 상상할 수 있는 현상들에 관한 이야기이다.
As stated in the title the Busan Museum of Art endeavors to present artworks of leading Korean artists in the caliber of imhongsok, who just held the solo exhibition ‘Good Labor, Bad Art’, Ki-won Park, Lee Bul, U-ram Choe, Jun-ho Jeon, Mee-na Park, Sue-jin Chung, are among the 30 artists featured here. The exhibition shows some 150 artworks including paintings,
sculptures, photographs, videos, digital animations and others.
The genres in art are versatile as today we are living in an era of experimentation and integration, so in the exhibition photography goes as far as to show immediate acceptance of high-technology, Korean paintings exploring modern tendencies, sculptures addressing genetic transformation or integrating science with art, paintings with conceptualized notions, istallations evoking sensory nerves on space and time, and video works documenting time.
The exhibition hopes to share the important phenomena in contemporary art, and for this reason the exhibition is both factual and resourceful. It has been stated that contemporary art is difficult but it is about us, the different phenomena and issues we think about, in addition to addressing our social and living environment. It is about our story and an imagination of what will be in the future to come.
