KAIST 미술관은 사운드스케이프 작가 김준의 《에코로그: 자연의 시간》을 개최한다. 작가는 강원도, 뉴질랜드, 호주에서 채집한 자연의 소리를 기반으로 감각적으로 재구성한 11점의 작품을 선보인다. 바람, 물, 돌, 식물 등 자연이 품은 시간의 결을 섬세한 사운드 설치로 구현하며 관람자가 자연의 리듬과 생태적 시간에 몰입하도록 이끈다.
에코로그는 지구가 오랜 시간 간직해온 자연의 소리를 기록하는 작업으로 지층과 생명체가 남긴 흔적을 감각적으로 탐색한다. 인간의 청각이 쉽게 포착하지 못하는 미세한 감각을 찾기 위한 작가의 노력은 수집과 기록, 재조합의 과정을 거치며 과학적 관찰과 예술적 상상력이 만나는 지점에서 독창적 세계로 드러난다.
이번 전시는 관람객이 일상에서 잠시 멈추어 사색하고 내면의 감각 확장할 수 있는 시간을 제공하고자 하였다. 자연의 소리를 매개로 예술과 자연의 관계를 새롭게 바라보는 경험을 통해 예술을 더욱 폭넓게 느낄 수 있도록 기획되었다.
KAIST Art Museum presents 《Echo Log: A Sonic Diary of Nature》, a soundscape project by artist KIM Joon. The exhibition features eleven works that weave together sounds and images collected from diverse natural environments, including New Zealand’s South Island, Australia’s Blue Mountains and Sydney, and Korea’s Pyeongchang, Yeongwol, and Jeongseon.
《Echo Log》 is a practice of creating a sonic diary of nature, sensually exploring the traces left by geological layers and living organisms. Through processes of collecting, recording, and recomposing, the artist pursues subtle textures often imperceptible to human hearing, revealing an original artistic realm where scientific observation meets artistic imagination. Through this exhibition, audiences perceive the delicate flows that lie beyond everyday noise. The moment closes their eyes and listens deeply, they confront their inner selves and, on a reflective journey, experience a restoration of the senses within nature’s subtle rhythms and memories.
