예술의 전당에서 인상주의 작품들을 만나는 ‘오르세미술관 : 고흐의 별밤과 화가들의 꿈’이 열리고 있다. 좀처럼 해외 반출이 쉽게 이루어지지 않았던 반 고흐 <별이 빛나는 밤>, 카바넬 <비너스의 탄생>, 세잔 <카드 놀이하는 사람들>, 르누아르 <소년과 고양이>, 밀레 <봄> 등 오르세미술관의 주옥 같은 작품들이 전시되고 있다.

고전주의 대표작가인 앵그르와, 카바넬의 작품은 비너스의 이상화된 모습을 통해서 신비스러운 감성을 불러일으키며, 사실주의의 거장 쿠르베, 밀레의 최고의 작품인 <봄>을 통해 19세기 발전된 화가들의 꾸밈없는 사실적인 시각을 읽어낼 수 있다. 인상주의의 문을 연 모네의 작품들을 비롯하여 르누아르·시슬레·피사로·드가의 작품은 화가들이 그려내고자 했던 세상이 점차 변화하는 과정을 고스란히 느끼게 해주며, 19세기 예술가들의 삶을 현재의 우리가 공유할 수 있도록 한다. 오르세미술관의 대표작품인 반 고흐의 <별이 빛나는 밤>을 통해서 고흐가 들려주고자 했던 밤하늘 풍경의 아름다움, 그리고 그의 열정을 느낄 수 있으며, 고갱과 상징주의 화가들의 환상적인 작품들이 전시를 더욱 풍성하게 한다.

오르세미술관이 소장한 고전주의에서부터 후기 인상주의, 그리고 그 후 상징주의까지 아우르는 회화·데생·사진에 이르는 총 134점의 작품들을 ‘화가들의 꿈과 이상’이라는 맥락에 맞도록 주제별로 선별하여, 이해하고 감상하기 쉽도록 압축적으로 선보인다.

‘Dream and Reality: Masterpieces from Musee d'Orsay’: Including Vincent Van Gogh's masterpiece the show introduces 134 artworks by great 19th century French artists such as Gustave Courbet·Claude Monet·Vincent Van Gogh·Auguste Renoir·Edgar Degas·Paul Cezanne·Paul Gauguin, from Musee d'Orsay in France. Established in 1986, Musee d'Orsay is one of the world's greatest art museums with over 6 million visits per year. It has the biggest collection of 19th century paintings, especially impressionist art.

This exhibition includes well-known works by some of the most famous artists in history such as Van Gogh's the Impressionist leader Claude Monet's Auguste Renoir's Post-Impressionist painter Paul Cezanne's and the Barbizon school painter Jean-Francois Millet's .
The exhibition is separated into four parts : ‘Human and Legend’·‘Human and Nature’·‘Human and Modern Life’·‘Solitary Human’. With this categorization, visitors can delve into the life and emotions within the paintings.
