경남ARTNOW : 땅과 삶 그리고 혼 The Gyeongnam ARTNOW : Landscape, Existence, and Spirit

 

 본 전시는 2013년 경남에서 개인전을 개최한 작가 중 15명을 선정하여 경남 작가들의 활동상과 경남미술의 오늘을 조명한다. 오늘의 경남 미술은 미술협회 회원이 1,800명에 달하고 20여 개의 미술단체가 운영되고 있을 만큼 양적인 성장을 이루었으며, 이제는 그 질적 향상과 지역성의 새로운 방향을 모색하고자 한다.

 

 표현영역에 따라 땅(Landscape), 삶(Existence), 혼(Spirit) 세 가지 주제로 구분된다. 자연의 아름다움과 상처를 기록 혹은 고발하는 김경현·노주현·박현효·배달래·오치근 작가, 삶의 본질과 그 희로애락을 표현한 강래오·노충현·박대조·박미·서금희·황규원 작가, 인간 내면과 우주의 형식적 개념에 집중한 공태연·박두리·박일철·백순공 작가의 작품세계를 만나볼 수 있다.

 이 전시의 의의는 인간을 둘러싼 모든 영역에 대한 경남작가들의 시선을 마주하는 것에 있다. 그들의 작품세계가 경남의 ARTNOW이며 경남미술의 내일을 준비하는 시작점이기 때문이다.

The Gyeongnam ARTNOW : Landscape, Existence, and Spirit invites 15 artists who held personal exhibitions in Gyeongnam last year and explores work of local artists as well as the present state of art in Gyeongnam. Art in Gyeongnam is robust with over 1,800 members of the Gyeongnam Fine Arts Association along with 20 art organizations. Now, we would like to focus on not just improving the quality of art work in Gyeongnam, but finding new directions for the future of local art.

 

The exhibition is centered on three themes : Landscape, Existence, and Spirit. Through these themes, it will examine natural beauty and sufferings (by Gyeong-hyeon Kim, Ju-hyeon Roh, Hyeon-hyo Park, Dal-lae Bae, and Chi-geun Oh), joy and sadness of life (by Rae-oh Kang, Choong-hyeon Noh, Dae-cho Park, Park Mi, Geum-hee Seo, and Q-one Hwang), and the human mind and the meaning of the universe (Tae-yun Gong, Du-ri Park, Il-cheol Park, and Soon-gong Paik).

 

The exhibition is intended to let visitors experience diverse experiments of local artists who wanted to explore the universe of humans. Their art world is Gyeongnam ARTNOW and signals the beginning of the future of Gyeongnam art.
