전북도립미술관이 개관 10주년 특별전으로 <열정의 시대 : 피카소부터 천경자까지>를 개최한다. 이번 전시는 모더니즘의 출발인 인상파(Impressionists)와 입체파(Cubists)의 모네, 피사로, 그리고 피카소, 레제, 브라크 등의 거장과 막스 리버만을 비롯한 독일 작가들 작품을 우리의 모더니즘과 함께 조명하는 전시다.

이번 전시에 출품된 주요작가 작품으로는 빛의 산란을 화폭에 담아낸 인상파 모네의 <Waterloo bridge>(워털루다리), 입체파의 창시자 피카소의 <Tete de femme au chapeau>(모자 쓴 여인), <Femme>(여인)와, 브라크의 <Paleta y Flores>(팔레트와 꽃) 등이 있다. 한국의 인상주의 화가로 불리는 오지호의 <함부르크항>, <항구> 등도 출품된다. 서민의 화가 박수근의 <농악>, 1950년대 이중섭의 은지화 작품 <가족>, 꿈과 환상의 세계를 표현한 천경자의 <드로잉 NO.949> 등도 놓칠 수 없는 우리 근·현대미술의 걸작이다.

Jeonbuk Museum of Art opens the 10th anniversary special exhibition of <Era of Passion: Picasso to Chun Kyung Ja>. This exhibition reviews the works of Impressionists and Cubists, the start of Modernism, such as Monet, Pissarro, Picasso, Leger and Braque and the works of German artists including Max Liebermann as well as our Korean Modernism.

For the main works of this exhibition, there are <Waterloo bridge> of Monet who was the Impressionist to express the scattering of light, <Tete de femme au chapeau>(the woman with a hat) and <Femme>(woman) of Picasso who was the founder of Cubism and <Paleta y Flores>(palette and flowers) of Braque and so forth. And Korean Impressionist Oh Chi ho’s <Hamburg Port> and <Harbor> are also displayed. <Nongak> of Park Soo keun who was the artist of ordinary people, <Family> which is the silver paper work of Lee Jung seop in 1950s and <Drawing No.949> of Chun Kyung ja who expressed the world of dream and fantasy are also the masterpieces of our modern arts not to be lost.
