2015 바다미술제 The Sea Art Festival 2015

부산비엔날레조직위원회가 주최하는 2015 바다미술제가 오는 9월 19일부터 10월 18일까지 부산 사하구의 다대포해수욕장에서 개최된다. 바다미술제는 1987년부터 시작된 국내의 대표적인 자연환경 예술제이다. 2015바다미술제는 17개국에서 36명(팀)을 초청하여 총 36점을 선보일 예정이다. 올해의 주제는 ‘보다 - 바다와 씨앗(See - Sea & Seed)’이며 독립큐레이터이자 미술평론가인 김성호 2015 바다미술제 전시감독은 스토리텔링에 기반을 두어 4개의 섹션으로 구성된 본 전시와 뉴질랜드의 한 기업이 참여하는 특별전을 기획하였다. 이번 전시에서는 작가 간의 협업, 인문학과의 협업, 그룹 간의 협업, 관람객과의 협업 등 다양한 콜라보레이션 작품들을 선보일 예정이다. 또한 자연 환경을 활용한 이이남 작가의 미디어아트와 관객들의 참여로 완성되는 요코 오노의 ‘소망 나무’와 같은 작품들도 바다미술제를 찾는다. 컨테이너를 활용한 ‘상상발굴프로젝트’는 역사를 재해석한 팩션의 공간으로 채워진다. 국내 대표 작가인 김영원, 노주환, 이명호, 조덕현의작품들도 2015 바다미술제에서 볼 수 있다.

The Sea Art Festival 2015 organized by Busan Biennale Organizing Committee will be held in Dadaepo Beach located at Saha-gu, Busan from upcoming September 19th to October 18th. The Sea Art Festival is a representative natural environment art festival of Korea launched in 1987. The Sea Art Festival 2015 is planning on inviting 36 people (teams) from 17 countries to exhibit a total of 36 pieces. This year’s theme is ‘ See -Sea & Seed’ and the Sea Art Festival 2015 artistic Director Sung-Ho KIM, an independent curator who is also an art critic, has planned a main exhibition composed of four sections based on storytelling and a special exhibition where a company from New Zealand will be participating in. In the upcoming exhibitions, various works of collaboration including among artists, humanities, academic groups and with viewers are planning to be opened to the public. Also, works such as media art of Lee-Nam LEE utilizing the natural environment and ‘Wish Tree’ by Yoko ONO that gets completed by the participation of audience will also visit the Sea Art Festival. The ‘Imaginary Excavation Project’ that has utilized container boxes will be filled up with a space of faction that has reinterpreted history. You can also see the works of renowned Korean artists including Young-Won KIM, Ju-Hwan NOH, Myung-Ho LEE and Duck-Hyun CHO in the Sea Art Festival 2015.
