아시아현대미술전 2015 Asia Contemporary Art Exhibition 2015

‘아시아현대미술전 2015’는 아시아현대미술의 주체성과 자신감을 보여주는 전시이다. 아시아의 전위성, 역동성, 실험성을 표방한 국제전으로 현재의 아시아가 담고 있는 다양한 사회문제들을 현대미술로 들추어냄으로써 한국미술이 지향해야 할 새로운 방향과 담론을 제시하고 있다.

또한, 지역미술 활성화와 국공립미술관의 특성화 전략의 일환으로도 주목할 만한 특별전시이다.

이 전시는 서구 중심적인 미술을 넘어 아시아적인 가치를 아시아의 프레임으로 구성한 특별전이며 아시아 14개국 35명 미술가들이 펼치는 현대미술의 향연이라 할 수 있다.아시아를 세계의 부분이 아니라 ‘세계자체’로 설정했으며, 현재의 아시아가 담고 있는 다양한 문제들을 현대미술로 들추어내고 있다. 정치•경제•사회•문화의 결이 혼성적인 아시아를 있는 그대로 인정하고, 각자의 관점에서 표현한 현대미술전이다.
