국립현대미술관은 한국과 스페인의 수교 60주년을 기념하여, 바르셀로나 현대미술관(MACBA)과 공동 기획으로‘La sombra del habla. Coleccion MACBA-언어의 그늘’전을 선보인다.

이 전시는 스페인의 역사와 문화를 배경으로 작품들을 소장하고, 이를 특별한 주제로 발전 시켜 온 MACBA의 소장품으로 구성되었다. 브루타에스, 타피에스등 현대미술을 대표하는 63명의 작가들이 언어(language)를 주제로, 다양한 소통의 방식을 미술에서 어떻게 표현하고 있는지를 살펴 볼 수 있도록 기획되었다. 또한 스페인뿐만 아니라, 국제적인 작가들의 작품도 함께 전시되어 스페인의 현대 미술이 국제 사회의 환경 속에서 어떻게 발전해 왔는지도 알 수 있도록 했다.

이 전시를 통해 회화·조각뿐만 아니라 설치·영상 등 실험적인 매체를 포함한 138점의, 스페인과 동시대 국제 현대미술의 대표작들을 함께 감상할 수 있을 것이다.

In Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of South Korea-Spain Relations, National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea presents Shadow of Speech : MACBA Collection of in collaboration with MACBA. This exhibition features the remarkable works of art selected from the collection of MACBA, whose acquisition agenda has been focused on the history and culture of Spain, which has been developed into particular themes. This exhibition lets the viewers observe how 63 participating artists including Broodthaers and Antoni Tapies creatively express the diverse ways of communication under the main concept of language. While including the works of leading artists throughout the world as well as those in Spain, this exhibition allows the viewers to understand how contemporary Spanish artistic practices have been developed in the multifold circumstances of the world. Featuring 138 works of art in various forms including not only painting and sculpture but some experimental artistic mediums such as installation and video art, this exhibition will provide the viewers with a valuable opportunity to enjoy major contemporary art works of the world as well as those of Spain.
