OCI미술관
OCI미술관은 한국현대미술의 장르 해체와 융합의 사례를 통해 창작의 역량을 쌓아온 대표 작가 8인의 그룹전을 5월 18일까지 개최한다.
서울대 미술대학 정영목 교수의 기획으로 열린 이번 전시는 회화·조각·공예·사진·비디오·컴퓨터 등 매체의 활성화로 야기된 장르 간 혼성·제작 태도와 사유의 유연성을 드러내는 현대미술의 ‘융합’·‘통섭’·‘퓨전’적 양상을 주제로, 고유의 틀을 벗어난 창의성과 시대적 변화를 수용한 예술 표현의 진정성을 공감하는 기회가 될 것이다.
참여작가 여덟 명은 권여현, 김남표, 박성환, 박지훈, 신기운, 신미경, 오용석, 정연두이다. 이들은 모두 국내·외에서 매체와 장르의 경계에 얽매이지 않으면서 그들 나름의 제작 태도와 아이디어에 따라 평면과 입체, 시간과 공간, 현실과 이상, 상징과 개념 등을 넘나드는 창작 태도를 보여왔다. 참여 작가들은 이번 전시에 2-3점씩의 신작과 구작을 출품하여 이미지와 텍스트를 아우르는 주제의식과 시대정신, 표현방법 등에 있어 다양한 융합의 태도와 현상들을 제시하고 있다.
The OCI Museum of Art presents the exhibition that bring together works by eight artists who have enhanced their creative abilities through the deconstruction and fusion of genres in the contemporary Korean art scene for a month from April 20.
This exhibition, curated by professor Chung Young-mok of the Seoul National University College of Fine Arts, addresses the aspects of convergence, consilience, and fusion in contemporary art based on the hybrid of animated genres such as painting, sculpture, crafts, photography, video, and computer, relying on more liberal work attitudes and flexible thinking. The show will be an opportunity to sympathize with authenticity of artistic expression embracing creativity and change of the times, departing from indigenous frames.
The participating artists include Kwon Yeo-hyun, Kim Nam-pyo, Park Seong-whan, Park Ji-hoon, Shin Ki-woun, Shin Mee-kyoung, Oh Yong-seok, Jung Yeon-doo. All these artists have worked with their own creative attitudes and ideas at home and abroad without binding to any medium and genre, blurring the boundaries between two-dimensional and three-dimensional work, time and space, reality and ideal, symbol and concept. The participating artists who have submitted two or three new and old works present diverse attitudes toward and aspects of convergence and fusion in themes, sprit of the times, and expressive methods, anticipating the viewer’s multifarious interpretations and sympathy.
