대구미술관 개관특별전 2부 ‘삶과 풍토’는 우리의 생활과 환경에서 비롯된 한국적 정서를 담고 있는 한국 현대미술에 주목하며 한국 미학의 특성적 단초를 찾고자 한다.
이 전시는 ‘삶’과 ‘풍토’라는 두 부분으로 구성되어 소개된다. 1부 ‘삶’에서는 개인의 소소한 일상에서부터 타인이나 사회와의 갈등, 생성과 죽음의 문제에 이르는 여러 이야기를 ‘삶’이라는 주제로 엮어 전개하고 있다. 박수근, 장욱진, 오윤 등, 1부에 참여하는 40여 명의 한국 미술가들이 겪은 굴곡의 역사는 저마다 독특한 조형언어로 작품에서 변주되며 드러난다.
풍경의 이미지가 주를 이루는 2부 ‘풍토’에서는 한국적 풍토의 문제를 살펴봄은 물론, 이를 바라보는 태도에 따라 다르게 나타나는 작가들의 조형적 차이를 발견하고자 한다. 이와 함께 여기에서는 지역적 특색을 단순히 드러내거나 풍경의 아름다움을 보여주기보다, 자연에 투영된 작가의 세계관을 전한다. ‘풍토’에는 겸재 정선의 <만폭동도(萬瀑洞圖)>를 비롯하여 이인성, 오지호, 변관식 등 44명의 작가가 참여한다.
Nature, Life, Human, the 2nd main opening exhibition of Daegu Art Museum, pays attention to the aesthetic quality pervading the Korean sensibilities which stems from the physical surroundings and life, as interacting with or subjected by the environment.
This show is composed of the two sections. The first section encompasses a wide range of experiences from the individual's daily banality, conflicts against society or other humans and to the birth and perishing of life, presenting them as a unifying tale of ‘life’. The historical changes of Korea and play a variation according to the aesthetic language of each different artist.
The second section of the exhibition consists mainly of artworks depicting the landscape of Korea. Images of landscapes are all delivered differently according to the different attitudes and visions of artists. Artists do not merely disclose the regional characteristics, or nor describe the beauty of the surroundings. Rather, they try to convey their view of the world that is projected onto the nature.
