2012부산비엔날레는 총 22개국 107명 385점의 작품이 출품된다. ‘배움의 정원’을 주제로 개최되는 이번 2012부산비엔날레는 본전시와 특별전뿐만 아니라 비엔날레 어반 스퀘어, 갤러리페스티발 등의 다양한 행사와 함께 열린다.
로저 M. 뷔르겔이 기획한 본전시는 부산시립미술관 등지에서 총 19개국 42명 200여 점의 작품이 출품된다. 배움위원회의 활동과 강연, 그리고 교육프로그램 등의 다양한 프로그램들이 유기적으로 구성되어 현대미술을 통한 소통과 교육의 새로운 비전을 제시하는 전시가 될 것이다. 9명의 신진 큐레이터가 기획한 특별전은 부산문화회관, 부산진역사와 미월드 등지에서 개최되며 총 5개국 65명 185점의 작품이 출품된다.
또한, 강연과 학술프로그램 중심의 Talk on Biennale와 이동식 전시장과 공연 등으로 시민에게 휴식의 공간을 제공할 Play with Biennale로 구성된 비엔날레 얼반 스퀘어, 그리고 부산지역 19개 갤러리의 자체 기획전을 만날 수 있는 갤러리페스티발 등이 함께 개최된다.
Busan Biennale 2012 hold art exhibitions in Busan Museum of Art, Busan Cultural Center, Busanjin Station, Meworld and other places. In the exhibitions are 385 pieces of artwork done by 107 artists from 22 countries. Under the theme of ‘A Garden of Learning’, various events are scheduled to run not only in the main exhibition and special exhibition hall but also during Gallery Festival, Biennale Urban Festival, and other events.
The main exhibitions organized by Roger M. Beurgel are in Busan Museum of Art and other places presenting 200 works of art endeavored by 42 artists from 19 countries. Services(activities) and lectures from The Learning Council, an group of citizens, and other educational programs will propose a new paradigm of communication and education through contemporary works of art. Special exhibitions organized by 9 rising curators take place in Busan Cultural Center, Busanjin Station, Meworld and other places presenting 185 artworks submitted by 65 artists from 5 countries.
Biennale Urban Square consists of Talk on Biennale and Play with Biennale. Talk on Biennale focuses on public lectures and academic conferences while Play with Biennale provides a place to relax offering travelling exhibition and performances. Gallery Festival invites visitors to appreciate its works of art programmed by 19 galleries around in Busan.
