리카 재단상 수상작가전 Me and You in a Living Room

송은아트스페이스는 현대미술 컬렉션 기획전의 일환으로 올해 리카 재단상 수상작가 그룹전을 선보인다. 파리 중심에 위치한 리카재단은 프랑스의 젊은 미술현장을 지원하는 한편 연간 여섯 번의 젊은 큐레이터 기획 초대전을 개최하고 있다. 또한, 유럽에서 가장 인지도가 높고 혁신적인 미술상으로 평가받는 리카재단상을 운영하고 있는데, 매년 FIAC 기간에 발표되는 수상작가의 작품을 재단이 구매하여 퐁피두미술관에 영구 소장품으로 기증한다. 이러한 활동은 리카재단의 컬렉션이 궁극적으로 공공 미술관과 대중을 위한 것이라는 취지에 기반을 둔다. 송은아트스페이스의 이번 전시에서는 협력 큐레이터 마리 카넷과 함께 과거에 리카재단상을 수상한 작가 중 주요 작가 여덟 명의 최근 작업들을 소개한다.

이번 전시 ‘Me and You in a Living Room’은 존재가 공간과 맺는 주관적인 관계에 관한 질문에서 비롯되는 주제론적인 디스플레이를 다룬 전시로 사회적, 개인적 문화적인 맥락들을 다루고 있으며 반복, 회귀, 모임, 추측 그리고 시에스타와 같이 시간적 맥락이 결부되는 삶의 방식 및 다양한 면모들을 전시 공간에서 생동감 있게 조명하고자 한다. 

As part of the annual program, SongEun ArtSpace showcases prominent collections of contemporary art and this year will proudly feature artists from the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard.  Located in the heart of Paris, Fondation d’entreprise Ricard is committed to actively support the young French art scene and to organize six exhibitions annually with young curators.  In addition, Prix Fondation d’entreprise Ricard (Ricard Foundation Award) is considered one of the most recognized and innovative awards in Europe. The awardee is announced each year during the FIAC Art Fair and an artwork is later acquired to be donated to the Pompidou Museum’s permanent collection.  Hence, after all of the Foundation’s efforts, in the end their “collection” is actually belonging to the museum and public.  This exhibition has been curated by Marie Canet and is a selection of eight of the past awardees and their more recent works.

‘Me and You in a Living Room’ is an exhibition proposing a set of spatial configurations involving specific methods of occupation – ways of living in time (through repetition, return, convocation, hypothesis and siesta) and describing them in the exhibition space (by living in it, making it aesthetic, and leaving traces in it).
