제1회 인사미술제
서울의 대표적인 미술의 거리인 인사동의 화랑 12곳이 참여하는 제1회 인사미술제가 ‘단순과 복잡(Simplicity and Complexity)’이라는 주제로 6월 13일부터 25일까지 개최된다. 올해 첫 회를 맞는 인사미술제는 국내 화랑의 메카인 인사동에서 최초로 열리는 지역 미술축제다. 이 축제는 역사적인 미술의 거리인 인사동이 지닌 가치를 재정립하고 제2의 부흥을 꾀하고자 특별히 마련된 것이다. 인사동에 위치한 12개의 화랑들이 중심이 되어 화랑가로서 인사동의 이미지 쇄신을 위해 기획된 화랑미술제이다.
이번 미술제는 현대미술의 흐름을 보다 직접적으로 반영하고, 미술제의 전체적인 기획의 통일성을 높이고자 ‘커미셔너제’를 도입하였다. 이러한 방식은 국내 화랑미술제에서 처음으로 도입되는 제도로서 기존의 다른 화랑미술제와는 차별화되는 점이다. 커미셔너 제도는 선정된 커미셔너가 하나의 테마를 중심으로 참가 화랑들과 긴밀히 협의하여 전시회를 진행해 나가는 방식으로서, 제1회 인사미술제에서는 미술평론가 윤진섭 교수가 커미셔너를 맡아 ‘단순과 복잡’이라는 테마로 미술제를 기획하였다.
The 1st Insa Art Festival
The 1st Insa Art Festival which 12 galleries will take part in a display of varied pieces of art, will be held with a theme of ‘Simplicity and Complexity’ from June 13 to 25 in Insa-dong where the area is well-known for Art. Not only this year will mark it’s first year, but also, it’s the first local art festival in Insa-dong where numerous art galleries are located in. This was established with an aim to reconstruct the value of Insa-dong and become a hub of Korean art culture. This festival is designed to reform the image of Insa-dong and it focuses on 12 galleries are located in Insa-dong.
This festival has introduced the ‘Commissioner system’ to reflect the trend of contemporary art more directly and enhance the unity of whole planning. Regarding this system, first of all, it is the first trial for local art festivals and it will make big difference compared to any other existing art fairs. This is the way that an appointed commissioner discusses a designated theme with participating galleries very closely and makes progress of the exhibition. Professor Yoon Jin-sub, an art critic, has been appointed as the commissioner for the 1st Insa Art Festival and has planned this festival with a theme of ‘Simplicity and Complexity’.
