한국미술_여백의 발견
삼성미술관 Leeum은 한국의 고미술과 현대미술의 대표작을 한자리에서 만나 볼 수 있는 <한국미술_여백의 발견>전을 11월 1일부터 2008년 1월 27일까지 개최한다. 이번 전시는 가야부터 근현대까지 청자, 백자, 서화, 사진, 영상 등을 망라하여 추사 김정희, 단원 김홍도, 겸재 정선과 박수근, 김환기, 백남준, 이우환 등 한국미술사의 핵심적인 작가와 국보 4점, 보물 5점을 포함한 대표작들이 선보인다.
이번 <한국미술_여백의 발견>전은 여백(Void)과 비움(Emptiness)이라는 키워드로 한국의 고미술과 현대미술을 한자리에 모아, 한국미술 속에 흐르는 특징을 재조명하고 새로운 면모를 발견하고자 마련되었다. 전시는 ‘여백의 발견_자연’, ‘비움 그러나 채움’, ‘상상의 통로_여백’의 3개의 섹션으로 구성되어, 동아시아의 미적 사유방식을 현대미학의 관점에서 해석했다.
Void in Korean Art
Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art presents 'Void in Korean Art' which shows representative collections of traditional and contemporary Korean Art from November 1st to January 27th, 2008. This exhibition encompasses ambitiously a broad range of works of art and objects from many genres of visual arts-from Gaya-period archaeological artifacts, to Goryeo celadons and Joseon white porcelains, to calligraphies and folk paintings, to modern and contemporary art works, photography, and moving images. This exhibition presents masterpieces of representative artists in Korean art history such as Gim Jeong-hui, Gim Hong-do, Jeong Seon, Park Soo-Keun, Kim Whan-ki, Nam June Paik, and Lee Ufan, and also includes National Treasures(4 pieces) and Treasures(5 pieces).
‘Void’ and ‘Emptiness’ are keyword for this exhibition intends to rediscover the characteristics of Korean Art includes both traditional and modern-contemporary art.
